MAHS strives to make Manchester area history interesting, useful and meaningful to the citizens of today. Please join us for one of our regular monthly meetings, held September through June, the second Thursday of the month, 7:30p, at the Village Room, Manchester Village Hall.
Our meetings are informal and include presentations on a wide variety of interesting topics representing a mix of local, state and national themes. Everyone is welcome, and attending a meeting is an excellent way to get started on your own journey into history!
David Nelson, a local pottery instructor, will talk about the art. Old to modern pieces will be on display.
Manchester native and Man. Hist. Society member Howard Parr will present a program on local businessmen from 1880's to1930's. Refreshments will be served. Public is always welcome. No charge.
Clark Spike, a former Sharon Township resident, will present a slide show on nature's beauty. Flora and fauna of Michigan.
Pastor Peter Harris of Sharon United Methodist Church will talk about the early Methodist from this area. Public is invited to attend. Refreshments served. No charge.
Our annual Christmas cookie exchange and carol sing.
Ray Berg, a local historian, will discuss John Gilbert and early Manchester.
Bill Ames, a local resident and Abe Lincoln impersonator, will present a program on "Honest Abe."
